The activated sludge process is applied in a wide variety of treatment systems including conventional activated sludge treatment plants, oxidation ditches, sequencing batch reactors, and package plants. Working in one of these treatment plants you quickly realize that process control and troubleshooting are essential skills to successfully operate the WWTP.
In this 3 hour LIVE ONLINE “Wastewater Process Control, Optimization, & Troubleshooting” workshop we will discuss commonly encountered problems, solutions, and steps to optimize your treatment process. We will also review traditional troubleshooting tools as well as innovative, state of the art approaches, such as DNA sequencing.
We will address:
- Bulking
- Pin floc
- Denitrification
- Dispersed growth
- Limited nutrients
- Foaming
- Toxicity
- Genotyping vs Phenotyping
- Application of Microscopy and DNA sequencing in troubleshooting process
- PCR testing functionality
