Many of us perform water quality testing on a routine basis. Whether you are an operator, lab analyst, or just now starting to do lab testing – lab safety involves a lot of considerations, especially related to chemical handling, storage, and disposal. In addition, it is important to be aware of the many physical dangers that we encounter in routine laboratory operations.
In this 3 hour live online “Chemical Hygiene Plans and Lab Safety for Water & Wastewater Labs” workshop we will:
- Establish what a Chemical Hygiene Plan (CHP) is.
- Discuss the components of the CHP.
- Learn about:
- identifying and describing hazards in the lab.
- designated areas.
- the role of the Chemical Hygiene Officer.
- specific laboratory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- engineering controls used in the laboratory to prevent exposures to chemicals.
